Deeper Dive into the Music - Songwriting/Creating Each Song

What pushed you to write “Too Much Noise”

The song “Too Much Noise” was based off of what I was feeling at the time. I was in a space where I was constantly trying to run away from my actual feelings. I would use different vices to “cope”, even though all I was really doing was filtering/dismissing the reality of what happened and how it was effecting me.

This song was my first attempt to actually freely say and acknowledge everything I was feeling and accept the reality for what it was… and is. This song played a huge role in my healing journey.

I felt my voice again, I felt heard, affirmed, and free… all within me and my own being.

When Xetta agreed to hop on this specific track, it really meant so much to me as an artist and as a friend.

Which song was the most fun recording?

First, let me start by saying, each of these songs was an experience to write and record, but I think the song I have the most fun making would have to be “LOUD”.

This song gives off kind of an early 2000’s type of vibe (my FAVORITE era of music to listen to), while incorporating operatic styles. So, it was definitely one that I enjoyed putting together and creating!

What is the inspiration behind “How It Goes”

So, “How It Goes” is probably one of the toughest songs to get through and write. I was a pretty emotional and kind of over everything while writing this. I was questioning everything and in so much turmoil in my mind… but in short, this song really helped me just cope to accept what life really is… and to believe what you see when a person shows you who they are. This song is about taking a moment to see the reality we are all currently living in… as a country, as a world, as humanity… I just still don’t know what else to say except for, “That’s just how it goes sometimes”.

(SHOUTOUT TO MY AMAZINGLY TALENTED BOYFRIEND AND FEATURE, SWAYLOW FOR HIS PART IN THIS SONG AND FOR PRODUCING MY ENTIRE ALBUM. THIS IS OUR WORK, OUR PROJECT. One of MANY MORE to come! <3 )

Okay! Last question. What was the toughest part of the album making process?

The toughest part about putting this album together was figuring out a drop date. I had planned on dropping this project WAY SOONER than I did, but I’m truly glad I waited cause it wouldn’t have been the project it is today.

By December of 2022, everything was finally done. The songs were selected, mixed, and were ready to be dropped. I decided to just wait until the end of the month to drop it. Once I stopped overthinking the drop and just dropped it, everything else just fell into place.
